Update June & July

Living the dream 🙏 enjoying a meal at our friends’ home.

The anticipated 4 - 5 months ‘wet season’ lasted around 6 weeks and unexpectedly the rain that usually arrives close to 4pm each day hasn’t happened for around 12 days. We need to water the plants again now!!

As you all well know the weather patterns everywhere have changed - the minuscule change of the earth’s axis may have an input… plus maybe all the human reasons given too...

I have ‘almost’ set up a painting area on the terrace. Will be better and thankfully the living area is now uncluttered again.

J has attached a big dark blue cupboard on the wall so more floor space for me. I was amazed how so much fitted in.

Will have to perform and create some paintings ready for sale. Been about 10 years since I’ve painted seriously…

Looking forward to it.

The next 3 weeks i will be hosting the Tuesday afternoon Bridge games here - always enjoyable 😊. Am improving slowly thanks to the weekly Zoom Bridge lessons generously given by an International player who is a ‘snow bird’ living and playing Bridge here in the dry season and now in Montreal for the summer…

We have new quietly efficient fans in the lounge - so so good. Only need the air con on for short bursts now. Today J is installing one of them out on the terrace and will provide a cool breeze and keep any insects away for me when painting and when we relax and eat out there. A big improvement  for outside terrace living.

Jazz is growing up fast. He is ready for his 6 week groom. The humidity make him pant a bit and his coat needs trimming now. This month he has his yearly vaccinations and every month he has his worm and flea & tick pills.  No sign of fleas or tricks though so that’s good. No cattle here and only occasional horses trot around.

We are now socialising Jazz and taking him out on a Sunday to a restaurant with outside dining and there are plenty here…

Our NZ friends Tina and Trevor have 2 lovely rescue dogs and they come too. The 3 of them are now friends and all have excellent manners when out. It is good to see. I wish we could take Jazz out more but not possible because even 10 minutes parking in the car in this heat would be too much. Is for us too. Of course the air con makes driving a pleasure.

My Spanish Is coming along slowly. A daily time with Duolingo helps. My priority at the moment is Bridge. My memory department is currently overwhelmed but it just has to behave and remember more!

Enjoy life and trust you are as well as can be and as happy as we are.
