Played my first American on-line Standard Bridge game on Trickster!
Jim from our Club here sent me the code and off we went against the 2 bots. We have now played with 2 other club members and will be playing again today 2-5pm. We can’t play ‘live’ because although it is a short drive from here, today is the start of a 4 day Carnivale so thousands of cars start arriving and it could take us up to an hour + to return home - it did last year and not again thank you🤔.
So we will be confined to our paradise here for the weekend - have stocked up food so no problem. Will have some reading time - yay!
Since then my dear friend Edna and I have played on Trickster twice and expect to play regularly from now… Incredible feeling, being so far apart NZ-Panama yet it feels like we are in the same room together. So wonderful!
The dry season is settled in now and the high temperatures are ok as low humidity. Cool breeze early morning now but soon heats up. We dine on the terrace most evenings after our ‘cold’ swim!! Our NZ friends here who live close by, sold our large BBQ using the large gas bottle on FB local Marketplace for us - took so much room on the terrace and so we now have a compact Weber BBQ using a small Coleman LPG cartridge - hardly takes up any room. Great!
I saw a gorgeous long slim black fitting dress, very flattering for $9.99 so I bought a bright yellow one the same!! Such a good deal. Oh yes!!!
Very pleased with them. Wore the black one to Bridge on Tuesday and happily received compliments from some ladies.
The gorgeous bougainvilleas are blooming in many colours just everywhere!! A beautiful picture in our front garden and around the compound here. Thankfully they are a long time flowering. Everywhere else they dominate the environment, flowers in abundance, but hands off - they hide strong sharp prickles J and I have felt too often!!!
J has been busy using his many skills in various areas. One American lady with major plans when she comes to live here appreciated J’s advice on a property before she committed to an offer. She subsequently purchased the property and J will oversee the many developments for her when she arrives here next month.
Our NZ friends, mentioned above, have a big apartment not far from us and they have lots of plans and appreciate suggestions from J. This has already started. So J is happily converting spare time into tangible results. Very positive and enjoyable.
